Ford GT


The Ford GT40 a car built in the mid-1960s meant for racing and taking on the Ferrari in the 24-hour race at Le Mans. Placing 1-2-3 at Le Mans in 1966, the Ford GT beat the world’s best in endurance racing.

The original cars were engineered design marvels represent Ford’s ambition. In a few years, lead by Henry Ford II, the company created a program from the ground up that achieved the peak of international motorsports competition. Dominating the competition it was able compete for four racing seasons. 2006 would mark its 40th anniversary of that historic car, and the start of Ford’s remarkable four-year winning streak of the Le Man’s endurance race.

The Ford GT V8 engine is the largest in Ford’s engine family, producing 550 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.
The 5.4-liter engine is all-aluminum and combined an Eaton screw-type supercharger. Power is distributed on the road using a Ricardo six-speed manual trans-axle combined with a limited-slip differential.
